Motus Recruiting and Staffing is Hiring a Workplace Investigator (Hybrid) Near Portland, OR

Workplace Investigator

Our client is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Workplace Investigator! The ideal candidate will have a background in conducting workplace investigations, particularly in handling sensitive matters such as harassment, discrimination, conflicts of interest, and other complex issues. Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed attorneys or possess a law degree. In this role, you will be responsible for thoroughly investigating workplace complaints, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations, and providing comprehensive reports and recommendations. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and impartiality throughout the investigation process.

Pay Range: $70.00 – 73.75, DOE
Location: Portland, OR – Mostly Remote – May have travel requirements to interview investigation participants.
Schedule: Variable depending on need (Fluctuates from 6 to 30 hours)

  • Must be available M-F from 8AM - 5PM / Some weekend and hours outside normal business hours may be needed.

Contract Duration: 1 Year

Key Responsibilities for Workplace Investigator:

  • Investigating workplace complaints regarding policy or legal violations with precision and diligence.
  • Conducting prompt, objective, and confidential investigations into employee and third-party complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and policy breaches.
  • Ensuring that all internal investigations align with the company's established standards and procedures.
  • Engaging in remote or on-site interviews with complainants, witnesses, and individuals involved in complaints, to gather and analyze pertinent facts.
  • Identifying, collecting, analyzing, and preserving relevant documents and physical evidence related to investigations.
  • Crafting concise investigation reports using established templates.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and providing actionable recommendations based on investigation findings.

Requirements/Qualifications for Senior Project Manager:

  • An Oregon-licensed attorney or private investigator is required.
  • 5 years of investigation experience is required.
  • Experience conducting effective workplace investigations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Federal, State and Local employment laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional human relations, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain objectivity.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Experience creating detailed notes and to investigating reports.
  • Must have experience interacting with employees across a broad range of cultures.
