Our client is an industry leader Infrastructure, Network and Storage solutions. They are looking for a Back-up and Storage Systems Engineer. This role will primarily focus on managing backup operations for our on-premises data centers running Linux and Windows operating systems, leveraging a combination of Dell, Commvault and legacy mainframe tape storage systems. US Citizen.
8-12 years of experience with planning, designing, and installing enterprise backup solutions.
Experience with SpectraLogic tape drives and CommVault COTS software.
Proficiency in VMWare ESXi infrastructure and various backup methodologies for virtualized environments.
Strong Linux administrative skills, including experience with patching and maintaining backup servers.
What You Will Be Doing
Plan, design, and install enterprise backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
Provide backup and restore support for two on-premises data centers, managing backup operations for Linux and Windows environments.
Configure and manage backup infrastructure using SpectraLogic tape drives and CommVault COTS software.
Perform Linux administrative activities, including maintaining a stable backup/restore environment and patching backup servers.
Utilize expertise in VMWare ESXi infrastructure to implement various backup methodologies for virtualized environments.
Work independently to provide input and recommendations during the design phase of backup infrastructure projects.
Troubleshoot complex problems related to backup solutions and implement effective resolutions.
Configure and install enterprise backup solutions, as well as manage clients running backup software.
Evaluate and suggest newer backup technologies to improve efficiency and move away from tape backups.
Document backup procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
