Duties of a Head Roaster include: 

• Source green coffee and work with importers and farmers
• Direct roast profiles and quality control. 
• Organize product menus.
• Responsible for accurate ordering and inventory management.
• Accurate order fulfillment.
• Facilitate coffee delivery and timely dispatch of orders.
• Oversees a small team of 3 people, the daily operations and management of the roastery
• Enforces and supports implementation and ongoing execution of processes and procedures. 
• Ensures the roastery is clean and tidy to company standards.
• Supports the team in all operational initiatives.
• Manages compliance with SNHD, HACCP, and FSMA policies. 
• Enforces OSHA compliance
• Executing disciplinary action forms and tracking performance as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Team.
• Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. 

Required skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of coffee roasting experience.
• Consistent weekday schedule, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
• Self-directed, independent, and demonstrates excellent time-management skills.
• Organized, methodical, and process-oriented, even in the midst of a changing environment.
• Focused thinker who can identify issues and resolve.
• Professional communication skills.
• Exhibits a sense of urgency when needed and can identify priorities. 
• Basic knowledge and use of Google Drive & Google Workspace.
• Must have experience working with Cropster.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.

• $45,000 during the first 90 day introductory period.

THE ROLE

The Head Roaster is one of the most important roles in the roastery as their main focus is to be the support of the explosive growth of our company which is all around COFFEE. They manage the roasting, production and warehouse team to ensure the quality of coffee that is produced. They are laser-focused on team quality control, only signing off on a profile or batch once it has been diligently tested that it meets company standards. In addition to this, the Head Roaster is expected to have their team prepare orders for fulfillment including packaging, labeling, and sorting for distribution. This specific position requires an in person consistent schedule, working with a 5-7 member dedicated team and pursuing positive results through hyper growth, new ideas, great roast profiles and exceptional detail to a perfect cup.
