THE ROLE- Henderson Sunset Rd/ Green Valley Parkway

As the Commissary Manager at Mothership Coffee Roasters, you are a steady dedicated leader who likes the quiet hum of a consistent schedule for you and your employees. As a steady leader, the Commissary Manager takes charge of operational activities at the Commissary level. This includes tasks such as hiring and training team members, overseeing bakery and food prep employees, developing quality assurance programs, adhering to budgets, and strategizing process improvements for efficient, timely, and accurate task completion.

You'll oversee the production of baked goods and sandwiches across all locations, collaborating closely with executive team members to guarantee smooth operations and alignment with our core values. Your expertise in inventory management, adherence to health and safety regulations, and strong communication skills will play a pivotal role in this position. Your unwavering commitment to excellence will significantly contribute to the ongoing success and expansion of Mothership Coffee Roasters.

Duties of a Commissary Manager Include: 

  • Demonstrate leadership by setting an example while overseeing quality control measures.
  • Possess an understanding of bakery production processes, including proofing and baking techniques.
  • Ensure unwavering consistency in the quality, taste, and appearance of all baked products.
  • Supervise daily production schedules to meet demand and uphold an ample supply of fresh products.
  • Contribute actively to product development initiatives.
  • Demonstrate robust organizational and inventory management skills.
  • Act with a sense of urgency in placing orders promptly to prevent shortages.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot bakery equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations.
  • Uphold the highest hygiene standards by sustaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Provide comprehensive training to bakery and food prep team members, offering guidance and support to enhance their skills.
  • Lead the bakery and food prep team, delivering training, scheduling, and fostering a cohesive and productive work atmosphere.
  • Effectively communicate with other departments to facilitate seamless operations and punctual deliveries.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including those related to food safety and labor laws.
  • Operate efficiently to control costs and minimize waste, all while upholding the exceptional quality of baked goods.

Required skills:

  • At least 2 years of proven experience in a Management Role or similar role in a high-volume bakery or restaurant setting.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
  • Must be available to work early morning to early afternoon. 
  • In-depth knowledge of baking techniques and attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrated success in mentoring and leading teams.
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ensures product consistency and efficiency.
  • Creative flair and passion for baking.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks to meet production goals.
  • Focus on delivering exceptional taste and presentation.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
  • Fosters a positive and collaborative work environment and vibrant culture.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and other departments.

  • Reliable and consistent work schedule availability.
  • Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.
