MorseLife Health Systems is Hiring a License Practical Nurse Near Beach, FL

SUMMARY
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides skilled nursing care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. The LPN provides nursing services that are within the area of expertise approved by the Florida Board of Nursing and with consistency to the patient’s plan of care.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  • Provides services in accordance with agency policies which include:
  • a) preparing clinical and progress notes;
  • b) assisting the Registered Nurse or physician in performing specialized duties;
  • c) assisting the Registered Nurse in carrying out the plan of care;
  • d) assisting the client in learning appropriate self-care techniques.
  • Prepares clinical and progress notes (not to include admission). Observes, records, and reports to the appropriate person symptoms, reactions and changes including general physical and mental condition of clients and signs and symptoms which may be indicative of untoward changes.
  • Assists the Registered Nurse in performing specialized procedures as directed by the Registered Nurse under physician's orders,
  • Fosters cooperative effort among personnel by understanding the functions of other persons involved in client care and by active participation in team and staff conferences.
  • The Licensed Practical Nurse with the education and proven clinical competence may perform certain treatments/procedures provided the PACE’s policies and the State's regulatory acts allow their performance. Only Licensed Advanced trained Practical/Vocational Nurses with documented skill in performing these functions may:

a) Administer medications, observe and report signs of adverse reactions.
b) Inspect intravenous insertion sites and remove peripheral I.V. needles/catheters.
c) Hang hydrating fluid without medications.
d) Hang I.V.'s premixed with medications.
e) Flush peripheral lines with saline or heparin solutions.
f) Changing bandages, wound dressings & Catheters
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Knowledgeable of service guidelines.
Demonstrated emergency medical technical competencies.
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Licensed as a LPN in the State of Florida and CPR certification.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
