POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a smart and motivated individual to support our legal and risk loss team in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing correspondence and contracts; administration of insurance and bonding including collection and review of COIs, renewals, and CIP enrollments; assessing customer and subcontractor compliance with Morrow’s insurance and risk management program; review and assessment of Morrow’s enrollment in project controlled insurance programs; general insurance oversight and project management; and coordinating other legal and administrative matters with our internal and external partners. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently and independently and be able to manage high volumes of tasks and projects with guidance from the General Counsel as needed. We are looking for a candidate who pays great attention to detail, has great organization skills, and has the ability to switch gears as needed. Further, the successful candidate will have a high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information, as well as the ability to work well with people at all levels inside and outside the company. The successful candidate will work out of our corporate office in Salem, Oregon.

**This position qualifies for a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote) after two weeks of full-time training in the office.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Document management (including copying, scanning, filing, archiving)
  • Support Morrow General Counsel with contract management and organization
  • Request and review certificates of insurance and insurance program enrollment in accordance with
  • Morrow’s insurance and risk program
  • Provide backup support for various functions within the legal department and executive
  • Management

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Possess strong organizational and computer skills and have a high level of competency to
  • read/write/speak English, review contracts and related documentation and communicate same with
  • coworkers
  • Constant mental alertness, accuracy, and attention to detail required
  • Able to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on all assignments
  • Be creative, use independent judgment, and organizational and problem-solving skills to determine
  • best method to accomplish desired results
  • Ability to plan and organize work

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • In-depth working knowledge of relevant computer programs including Adobe Acrobat DC, Microsoft
  • Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Able to read and understand contract documents and insurance forms
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem analysis and resolution
  • Able to effectively handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Able to work well under pressure

Preferred but not required:

  • 2-10 years’ experience working in a construction and insurance risk management setting
  • Previous experience with the construction industry
  • Previous experience with insurance (including general liability insurance, workers’ comp, and
  • commercial auto, among others)
  • CRIS certification
  • Working knowledge of claims and insurance coverage
  • Working knowledge of standard CGL endorsements and standard ISO forms
  • Working knowledge of contractual insurance and indemnity provisions
