Responsibilities

We are hiring an experience drafter for our Engineering team here at Morgan! This is a great opportunity to have hands on experience with our Senior Application Engineer and gain experience to grow in the department. The Design Drafter is responsible for drafting and manufacturing support on customer job projects in the company. Provides immediate customer support in the areas of project drawings and technical issues.

• Select and design simple refractory shapes, simple refractory placement arrangements and make drawings of the same, utilizing dimensional calculation, shape visualization and orientation
• Basic knowledge of equipment unique to refractories field
• Does limited structural, electrical, civil and mechanical arrangements and develops drawings of the same
• Calculate basic bills of materials (BOM’s) to the used in pricing/cost estimates. Estimate quantities of material used in process equipment
• Collecting, processing and sending engineered refractory arrangement drawings to customers, sales and others per document control procedures

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent drafting experience OR Drafting and Design Diploma or equivalent experience
• 2 years of general drafting experience and AutoCAD 
• Must be able to use current release of the computer aided drafting (CAD) software, AutoCAD
• Excellent written, verbal communications and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point

Preferred Qualifications:

• Solidworks and Inventor experience is a plus
