Morehouse School Medicine is Hiring a Communication Program Coordinator, NCPCR Near Atlanta, GA

Individual will report to the NCPCR Director. Provides administrative assistance to team to support the accomplishment of program objectives; develops, coordinates, and advises staff regarding program policy and communication. Funded by the NHLBI, the Morehouse School of Medicine Network for Community-engaged Primary Care Research (MSM NCPCR) overarching goal will be to narrow the health inequities among disproportionately impacted populations served by the primary care safety net across the southeastern United States (US) and nationally.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree – Degree must be from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, communications, or other area as appropriate preferred – Degree must be from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Min. 3 years of office administrative experience
  • Min. 2 years of budget management experience

Job Duties
Description of Job Duty
  • Assist project teams to develop content, deliverables, and strategies for project support for local and national distribution
  • Aid the NCPCR project team to develop methods for engagement with the target audiences.
  • Develops, plans, coordinates and implements activities including, but not limited to, webinars, conferences, workshops, short courses, public events and other related programs; develops and coordinates new ideas and concepts for program themes, materials and resources to supplement, expand or replace existing program components.
  • Plans and administers activities and strategies of the NCPCR project to include developing, implementing, and supervising related procedures, processes, and systems
  • Communicate with project teams to maintain calendar of activities of the Coalition to Advance Community Health Equity (CACHE)
  • Actively participate and contribute in NCPCR project meetings and workgroups and create coordinating deliverables
  • Maintains liaison with other programs, offices and departments at MSM to coordinate program business and to accomplish program objectives; interfaces with external organizations as appropriate to ensure cooperative efforts are enhanced and available resources are utilized.
  • Some local and national travel required
  • May be responsible for assisting in the development and dissemination of communication strategies and information for engaging, informing and connecting collaborative partners and other universities/ providers.
  • May be asked to assist in writing and editing technical and/or scientific documentation.
  • Work closely with departmental/university communication team.
  • Manage internal communications (memos, newsletters etc.)
  • Manage content for social media sites or website
