POSITION PURPOSE: The Instrumentation and Electrical Technician will troubleshoot and maintain all controls, instrumentation, and electrical equipment to support operations and maintenance teams.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 2-year technical/instrumentation degree required. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with electrical systems, PLC, motor and motion controls, SCADA systems, device and information networks, sensors, instrumentation equipment for manufacturing is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Experience with electrical installation and troubleshooting up to 480V is required. Previous mechanical/maintenance experience preferred. Previous food manufacturing experience preferred. Strong attention to detail. Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and all levels of management. Experience working in computer maintenance programs (CMMS) preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Job requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. Willing to work overtime and on-call infrequently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Position requires the ability to stand for a minimum of 3-6 hours per day; sit, walk, bend over, and reach above head at a minimum of 2 hours per day; minimal lifting or carrying of 50 pounds occasionally. Able to access all areas of the plant including the roof and areas above equipment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Troubleshooting and maintenance of the following: Power Distribution, Compact Logix, SLC 500, ASi, I-O link platform hardware and software, Drives and Motion Control (Powerflex, SLC, ABB), FactoryTalk SE, Ethernet/IP Control Network, Food Manufacturing and Utility Instrumentation
· Megger motors and service electrical equipment and panels up to 480V
· Performs the necessary activities to operate, maintain, and clean production equipment. Understands, follows, and improves documented operational, maintenance, and sanitation standards in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) work environment. Perform and document preventative maintenance activities
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
· Ability to work overtime and be on-call as needed
· Adhere to all safety requirements, company policies, and procedures
· Other duties as assigned
