MST is experiencing tremendous growth and we are adding a new Staff Tax Associate to our New York based team. This role can be fully remote or hybrid depending upon your location and preference.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of federal and state income tax returns, amended income tax returns, income tax projections, and quarterly estimated tax calculations for individuals, partnerships, S-Corporations, C-Corporations, trusts, and estates
• Preparation of gift tax returns for individuals
• Preparation of information returns (e.g.,1099s and 1042-S)
• Assist with resolving federal and state tax notice issues
• Assist with the calculation of federal and state tax credits
• Assist with federal and state tax audits
• Perform tax research as needed to prepare returns and to answer client questions
• Perform accounting and bookkeeping functions as needed
• Assist with various consulting projects for clients
• Travel to client sites and the NY office in White Plains as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related degree program required
• Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
• CPA or on track to become a CPA – have met minimum educational requirements to be licensed as a Certified Public Accountant
• Years of experience in public accounting: 0 to 3
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
