WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

The Warehouse Operations Supply Technician will complete order fulfillment utilizing voice selection, load/unload merchandise, move large quantities of liquor, beer and wine into and throughout warehouse, including into and out of high storage racks located throughout warehouse. As the Warehouse Operations Supply Technician your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Operating order selector trucks, forklifts, squeeze machines, and slip-sheet machines to move merchandise to designated areas.
  • Manually stacking unloaded merchandise as necessary and manually replacing stock that has been returned from delivery runs.
  • Checking the accuracy of product placed on conveyor.
  • Safely loading (hand-stacking) trucks to prevent product breakage.
  • Filling warehouse orders by picking merchandise and transporting it to assembly points; replenishing the picking lines.
  • Updating the master case location file; maintaining a list of high turnover items and recommending movement to other areas to improve warehouse efficiency.
  • Taking warehouse inventory; recommending replenishment of stocks or the relocation of same within the warehouse.
  • Verifying shipments to ensure orders are accurate.
  • Performing general warehousing and housekeeping duties as assigned.

To be a successful Warehouse Operations Supply Technician, you must have:

  • Knowledge of established principles and practices of ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying and issuing items of supply peculiar to Alcohol Beverage Services.
  • Skill in problem solving to select, organize, and logically process relevant information to solve problems.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The selected candidate will be required to complete a background investigation and a medical history.

This position MAY require work during non-traditional hours to include early mornings, evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays; may require work that involves physical demands, occasionally working in warehouse and/or retail store environments; and the ability to attend meetings or perform work at locations outside of the assigned facility.

To ensure a positive workplace and to comply with federal, state, and County laws, the incumbent is responsible for completing mandatory training within the first three to six months or within the specified timeframe.

Minimum Qualifications


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:

If filling the position as a Warehouse Operations Supply Technician I, no previous experience is required. You will need to have the Ability to read and write in English. There is no equivalency for this level.

If filling the position as a Warehouse Operations Supply Technician II, you will have o (1) year of experience in storekeeping that includes researching, ordering, receiving, checking, stocking, inventorying and issuing supply items applicable to the department/agency to which the position is assigned; and have graduated from high school or have the possession of a High School Certificate of Completion recognized in the State of Maryland. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

As a Warehouse Operations Supply Technician III, you will have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in ordering, receiving, checking, stocking, inventorying, and issuing supply items applicable to Alcohol Beverage Services. Position also requires graduation from high school or possession of a High School Certificate of Completion recognized in the State of Maryland. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

For this position, you must be able to independently move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Some employees must have ability to independently, or with assistance or equipment, move objects weighing up to or over 100 pounds.

You should also have and maintain at all times of a valid Class C (or equivalent) driver’s license from your state of residence, a certificate for forklift operation and/or a license/certificate for operation of other equipment, which may include a Commercial Driver’s License, as required by the position of assignment.
