Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. **A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations**

Nature of Work

Thefundamental reason this classification exists is to perform manual and clericalduties in a library.� Employees in thisclassification are closely supervised and are primarily responsible for shelvingand organizing materials in the library.Other major responsibilities include answering general questions frompatrons, preparing meeting areas, preparing displays and decorations,performing light maintenance and/or housekeeping, and assisting staff with avariety of tasks.� Supervision istypically received from Librarians.� Thisclassification differs from the Library Assistant classifications in thatLibrary Assistants are typically assigned to more technical tasks such asproviding reference assistance and performing circulation duties.
