Montessori School of San Diego is Hiring a Teacher Near San Diego, CA

Montessori School of San Diego is seeking a passionate and dedicated Roving Teacher to join our vibrant Montessori community.

About the Role:

As a Roving Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting our lead and assistant Montessori teachers across multiple classrooms, ages 3-9. You will collaborate with teachers to ensure a seamless learning experience for all students, helping to provide individual and small group instruction aligned with the Montessori philosophy.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with all staff and within all classrooms and go where needed.
  • Work in the aftercare program each day.
  • Sub for classroom teachers when needed.
  • Collaborate with lead and assistant Montessori teachers to observe, assess, and document student progress.
  • Facilitate student learning through hands-on exploration and discovery.
  • Model the Montessori philosophy and foster a positive and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Assist with classroom management, ensuring a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Prepare and maintain Montessori materials, ensuring they are readily available for student use.
  • Communicate effectively with lead and teachers regarding student progress and development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Work the hours of 9:30-5:30 M-F, excluding school breaks and holidays.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children
  • Willing to undergo livescan fingerprinting and background check
  • Up to date health screening for childcare facility
  • Up to date mandated reporter certification
  • Up to date infant/child CPR certification
  • Strong understanding of the Montessori philosophy and its application in the classroom is preferred.
  • Excellent observation and assessment skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Passion for child development and a commitment to fostering a love of learning.

Benefits:

  • Salary range: 33,000 - 34,000, Sept- July, with opportunity for additional hourly pay in our August Camp Program
