Montessori Children's School is Hiring a Montessori Teacher Assistant- Elementary (Ages 6-9) 2024-2025 School Year Near Jacksonville, NC

At The Montessori Children’s School of Jacksonville, NC, we believe each child is a unique individual with their own style of learning. Position Summary: Responsible for directly supporting the Lead Teacher in creating stimulating learning environments for children of all ages and helping facilitate lesson plans that nurture and develop the emotional, social, and intellectual skills of students embracing the Montessori philosophy.

Job Description:

▪ Assist the Lead Teacher in the delivery of lesson plans, facilitating learning exercises, and supporting the needs of the individual student, aligned with authentic Montessori learning experiences.

▪ Demonstrates professionalism that is consistently aligned with the Montessori philosophy, MCS policies and protocols, and state laws and regulations.

▪ Serves as a role model for students, colleagues, and families based on trust, inclusiveness, and professionalism.

▪ Creates and maintains a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom where all children feel safe, valued, and included.

▪ Carefully observes and guides students in the use of classroom learning materials and equipment.

▪ Ensures the classroom environment is orderly, respectful, and conducive to a stimulating classroom environment, and all classroom resources are readily available and in good working condition.

▪ Embraces and uses relevant technology to support instruction.

▪ Receptive to coaching and one-on-one development.

▪ Communicates relevant and timely information to the Lead Teacher regarding student needs in a solution-based and positive manner.

▪ Attends and actively participates in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and school events.

▪ Accompanies students on field trips and provides care and oversight when participating in school activities.

Education & Experience Requirements

▪ Associate's Degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred in Elementary Education

▪ Previous experience in an Elementary school setting required, preferably a Montessori classroom.

This position requires extended periods of standing, walking, and engaging with students both one-on-one and in group settings.

Compensation: Dependent on candidate's qualifications. Benefits may be available to full-time employees.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
