A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CALL CENTER OPERATOR

As an entry-level phone operator, you are often the first experience our patients have with our medical office. You play a vital role in ensuring that patients are connected with who they need to talk to. By handling incoming calls from multiple lines and offices, you screen and route calls to the appropriate co-worker or voicemail as well as provide written messages when necessary. Additionally, you'll expertly manage incoming faxes, meticulously organizing and directing them to the appropriate personnel, all while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality.

While performing quality customer service, you maintain a professional manner when communicating with patients as well as physicians, co-workers, contractors, and outside facilities. By consistently upholding our company's mission, you'll contribute to fostering trust and confidence in our medical group among our valued patients.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CALL CENTER OPERATOR

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to determine if and when help is needed and be able to communicate to surrounding staff to ensure the quality of phone processing
  • Ability to demonstrate basic math skills
  • Knowledge about basic computer systems, including Microsoft applications
  • Knowledge about efficient filing systems, office machines, and equipment
  • Knowledge about medical terminology is a plus
  • Experience using an electronic health records (EMR) system is preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration.

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A CALL CENTER OPERATOR

This full-time phone operator position works 8-hour shifts between the hours of 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday, weekends off. This position is on-site and is not available for remote work.
