The Assistant Director of Nursing maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing's Social Policy Statement.The Assistant Director of Nursing actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard and performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center.The Assistant Director of Nursing participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. TheADN embraces both the Professional Practice Model and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing.The ADN role models service excellence. He/she participates in performance improvement and research.Activities, maintains professional practice standards, and demonstrates leadership and management skills. The ADN will be responsible for quality management, peer review, and performance improvement processes within a designated Nursing Care Center, ensuring that these activities are coordinated through the Department of Professional Practice/Nursing Quality and are in alignment with organizational priorities. The ADN will support the goals of the Department of Professional Practice, working to ensure that the delivery of nursing care at the Care Center is aligned with scope of practiceguidelines established by the American Nursing Association and the NY State Department of Education,Professional Licensing Division. The ADN will perform case finding and analysis, provide QIcommittee support, and facilitate the conduct of studies and projects that will achieve Nursing CareCenter and organizational goals for cost, quality, and service.The ADN also serves as a liaison at each Care Center for support of professional nursing practice at ambulatory and procedural areas of those Care Centers, and assists in support of other ambulatory care as assigned.
- New York State Registered Professional Nurse License and current registration.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or related field required.
- Master of Science degree in Nursing or related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years management experience required.

Montefiores WIC program is the oldest in New York State, established in 1974, and serves 13,000 women, infants and children. WIC is a supplemental nutrition program, providing supplemental food vouchers, nutrition education, breast feeding education, peer counseling and physical fitness education.
