Location:
Monona Grove High School Monona Grove School District has openings for 1.0 FTE Building Substitute Teacher. This position begins as soon as possible and the position is expected to last for the duration of the 2023-24 school year.
Overview:
The Monona Grove School District is seeking a qualified Building Substitute Teacher serving grades 9-12. This position's work schedule follows the district teacher calendar and works in a variety of classrooms based on building needs.
Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Grade 9-12 teacher in support of all learners and co-plan to co-serve with teams of teachers in inclusive classroom settings.
• Support proportional representation of all learners in all classrooms.
• Communicate proactively and effectively with other teachers and administrators.
• Collaborate with colleagues, including special education teachers, to provide a range of academic and social-emotional support to students in inclusive classroom settings.
• Align practice with the MGSD Equity Non-Negotiables.
• Establish effective rapport and build strong relationships with students.
• Develop positive relationships and engage in open reciprocal communication with parents and families.
• Attend work regularly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience working in different content areas preferred.
• Working knowledge of general education curriculum and experience with Co-Planning Working knowledge of Universal Design for Learning and culturally relevant instructional practice preferred.
• Understanding of equity as it relates to public education and one’s role in creating and maintaining equitable systems and practices.
• Experience working with diverse learners preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work positively and productively as an active member of a vibrant teaching team.
• Ability to use technology in support of learning and instruction.

License Requirement:

• Valid WI Department of Public Instruction Teacher License, or ability to obtain license upon hire required
  • Appropriate low and high grade levels

OR

• Valid WI Department of Public Instruction Long Term Substitute license or ability to obtain license upon hire required.

OR

• Valid WI Department of Public Instruction Short Term Substitute license or ability to obtain license upon hire required.
