Job Description Summary

The staff accountant position performs daily and monthly functions including month end and year end reporting. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to work in a multiple task environment and strong computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger accounting; including preparation, posting and documentation of Journal Entries.
• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Assist with month end process.
• Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Monthly reconciliation of multiple bank and credit card accounts.
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts and manage accounts receivable and collections.
• Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned including special projects and reports.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent accounting experience
• Previously held roles as a Staff Accountant is preferred 
• SAP experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software. SAP is a plus!
