Mon Amie’s Business and Wellness Solutions is a leading provider of academic support services dedicated to helping students with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) achieve their academic goals. We are committed to providing personalized coaching and strategies to empower students with ADHD to thrive academically. As an ADHD Academic Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting and guiding students with ADHD to develop effective study skills, organization techniques, and time management strategies.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Academic Tutor for Reading to join our team and support students in improving their reading skills across the K-8th grade levels in the Northwest Louisiana region. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for literacy education, a commitment to student success, and the ability to engage with diverse learners.

Responsibilities:

  • Individualized Instruction: Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to the specific needs of each student, focusing on reading comprehension, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and literacy strategies.
  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct initial assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement in reading. Regularly monitor student progress through formative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging and effective instructional materials and activities aligned with students' learning objectives, curriculum standards, and best practices in literacy instruction.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Adapt teaching strategies and interventions to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and cultural backgrounds, ensuring all students have equitable access to learning opportunities.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to develop and implement targeted intervention plans, share progress updates, and coordinate support services to meet students' academic needs.
  • Motivation and Confidence Building: Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages students to develop confidence, motivation, and a love for reading through personalized instruction and encouragement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Literacy, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or enrollment in a teacher preparation program preferred.
  • Experience working with K-8th grade students in a tutoring, teaching, or educational support role.
  • Strong knowledge of literacy development, reading instruction methodologies, and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and educational stakeholders.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome reading challenges and achieve academic success.
  • Familiarity with various learning styles and the ability to adapt coaching techniques to meet individual student needs.
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate different learning environments and student schedules.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with educational technology and online learning platforms.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check and provide references.

Working Conditions:

This position is primarily in-person, with tutoring sessions conducted onsite at our office. The schedule is flexible, but availability during after-school hours and evenings is necessary to accommodate students' schedules. During summer months (June & July), availability during traditional business hours is required, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. The Academic Tutor will work closely with students, parents/guardians, and educators to develop individualized plans and provide ongoing support.
