We are committed to providing personalized coaching and strategies to empower students with ADHD to thrive academically. As an ADHD Academic Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting and guiding students with ADHD to develop effective study skills, organization techniques, and time management strategies.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an ADHD Academic Coach. As an ADHD Academic Coach, you will work one-on-one with students with ADHD, providing them with the necessary tools and strategies to overcome academic challenges and maximize their potential. You will support students in developing executive functioning skills, improving focus and concentration, and creating a structured approach to their academic responsibilities. The ideal candidates have a strong understanding of ADHD and its impact on learning, as well as experience in coaching or mentoring students.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with students, parents/guardians, and educators to develop personalized academic plans tailored to the unique needs of each student with ADHD.
  • Provide individualized coaching sessions to students, focusing on executive functioning skills development, organization techniques, and time management strategies.
  • Assist students in breaking down tasks and assignments into manageable steps, setting goals, and creating structured study plans.
  • Teach and reinforce effective study skills, note-taking strategies, and test-taking techniques that cater to the learning style and strengths of each student.
  • Foster self-advocacy skills by helping students understand their ADHD and effectively communicate their needs to educators and support staff.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback and guidance to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, strategies, and resources related to ADHD and academic coaching.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in working with students and their families.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, special education, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of ADHD, its impact on learning, and evidence-based strategies for academic success.
  • Previous experience working with students with ADHD in a coaching, tutoring, or teaching capacity is highly desired.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build trust with students and their families.
  • Empathy and understanding of the unique challenges faced by students with ADHD, and the ability to provide non-judgmental support and guidance.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to help students develop these skills.
  • Familiarity with various learning styles and the ability to adapt coaching techniques to meet individual student needs.
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate different learning environments and student schedules.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with educational technology and online learning platforms.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check and provide references.

Working Conditions:

This position is primarily in-person, with coaching sessions conducted either onsite at our office or at the student’s home. The schedule is flexible, but availability during after-school hours and evenings is necessary to accommodate students' schedules. The ADHD Academic Coach will work closely with students, parents/guardians, and educators to develop individualized plans and provide ongoing support.
