Founded by chef David Chang, Momofuku’s mission is to challenge the conventions of food - in restaurants and beyond. We launched our line of Asian pantry essentials in 2020 to bring restaurant flavors to home cooks everywhere. Since then, we have grown our team to more than 30 employees and our products can now be found nationwide – from our owned ecommerce marketplace to the shelves at grocery stores like Whole Foods and Target.

The Senior Accountant contributes to the success of Momofuku Goods by performing all the accounting duties as well as playing a key role in longer term financial projects and analysis. The role will be pivotal in producing timely closes with accurate month end financials. They should be comfortable and excited about creating and implementing systems, and eager to work in a highly collaborative environment.

Compensation Band: $90,000 - $100,000 annually

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end and year-end closure procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting (journal entries, accruals, GL reconciliations).
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure balances are properly supported and explained.
• For Accounts Receivables - ensure invoices and statements are remitted, communications with customer accounts to ensure timely collections, accurately applying trade deductions and reconciling AR aging.
• For Accounts Payable - oversee all invoice entry accuracy, statement reconciliation, preparing checkruns and communications with vendors.
• Prepare and analyze all 3 financial statements - balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to resolve any reconciliation issues or GL review in a timely manner.
• Reconcile intercompany balances, oversee credit card expense reports and expense reimbursement reports.
• Support matters of Sales tax, 1099s and audit preparation as necessary. 
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
• 2 years accounting experience minimum 
• Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience
• Excellent Excel capabilities, including the ability to manage and maintain tables and various databases
• Excellent presentation skills (Powerpoint) and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, preferably Netsuite
• CPG startup experience; specifically creating company processes where none existed previously
• Advanced Excel (i.e. VBA, macros) and financial modeling experience
• Proven track record of critical thinking and business intuition resulting in effective financial management
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the inner workings of Momofuku’s Finance team, systems, and processes
