RATE OF PAY:

• $18.04 per hour

JOB FUNCTION:

Provides a direct link between the low-income population and the various services available to assist in easing problems caused by poverty.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide intake, assessment, facilitate enrollment and other assistance to families requesting services.
• Incorporate a Trauma Informed Care approach to program delivery.
• Advocate for the rights of families experiencing poverty and/or individuals.
• Provides information and referral for services.
• Plays key role in agency’s Centralized intake through database system.
• Works in coordination with other MVCAA programs, makes referrals or takes applications for direct services offered by the Agency.
• Conduct outreach and community education programs.
• Attends meetings and participates in trainings, as directed.
• Research rules and regulations relevant to programs and services for families and individuals in poverty.
• Submits written reports and records as required.
• Observes confidentiality according to Head Start Performance Standards and Agency Policy.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs other duties as requested by the Program Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• AAS in Human Services or related field OR
• 3 or more years’ experience in related field preferred.
• Possess excellent customer service skills.
• Able to communicate with the public and low-income families and individuals as well as maintain accurate records.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• Basic computer literacy in email, word processing, database entry, and internet navigation
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality and privacy.
• Adheres to agency personnel policies and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of community resources in all counties the agency serves.
