Mohave Community College is Hiring a Financial aid technician Near Bullhead, AZ

Description

Reporting directly to the Financial Aid Manager, the Financial Aid Technician is the first point of contact for students, families, and community members for questions related to Financial Aid and will be responsible for responding to and triaging incoming financial aid communications;

whether by phone, email, or in-person. They will manage and track documentation submitted by students, review student aid applications, and perform verification on student aid applications.

This position will also manage financial aid processes and work on special projects as assigned.

Individuals in this non-exempt / hourly position are expected to be available during the normal business hours of the college, and may occasionally be asked to work non-traditional hours, including holidays and weekends, as needed.

Typical Duties

  • Serve as primary point of contact in Financial Aid for students, families, and community members, responding to a high volume of incoming calls, emails, and in-person inquiries
  • Triage and escalate inquiries to other members of the Financial Aid team and Student Services as necessary
  • Manage document tracking and storage for Financial Aid in compliance with federal and state regulations and institutional policy
  • Collaborate with teams across the College to ensure proper administration of financial aid programs; including the verification of eligibility for aid funds and the movement of data between systems to monitor awards.
  • Assist with and present financial aid information across the College and in the community
  • Perform high school and community outreach initiatives for financial aid, scholarships and financial literacy.
  • Handle highly sensitive information and confidential records and materials in compliance with federal and state regulations and institutional policy
  • Adhere to college, federal, and state regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations affecting college operations
  • Perform other tasks of a similar nature or level as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree
  • Two (2) years related experience

Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency and experience working with NSLDS and financial aid management systems (specifically, PowerFAIDS).
