SUMMARY
The Buyer/Expeditor responsible for the purchase of general material and manufacturing supplies as assigned. The Buyer/Expeditor will issue purchase orders, releasing material from existing purchase orders, and expedite material and supplies.
ESSENTIALDUTES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Receives and reviews field requisitions for completeness and accuracy; conferring with requestor when clarification is required.
2. Releases material from pre‐negotiated blanket purchase orders, maintaining tracking logs of released material and quantities released.
3. Secures vendor quotations on requisitions.
4. Processes requisitions for purchase.
5. Prepares bid invitations for RFQ / RFP.
6. Performs leveling of vendor quotations.
7. Provide assistance in generating submittal information for requested commodities, supplies or equipment working with requesting department to identify needs.
8. Issue change orders as required in accordance with revised BOM’s.
9. Expedite and ensure timely delivery and back orders,follow‐up to maintain optimum field production.
10. Handle return material to ensure proper and timely credit to the project.
11. Review and approve invoices.Interface with vendor and A/P to resolve invoice problems.
12. Perform additional duties as directed by Purchasing Agent or Director of Product Development.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum 2years’inpurchasingorrelatedfieldintheelectricalindustry
· Can be a combination of education,training,and relevant experience
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS&ABILITIES:
· Skill in both verbal and written communication
· Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office(Outlook,Word,Excel,etc.);Oracle preferred
· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks,changing priorities as necessary
· Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
· Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
· Ability to be self‐motivated, proactive and an effective team player
· Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees,both management and staff alike,vendors,clients,and others

WORKINGCONDITIONS:
· General work environment–sitting for long periods,standing,walking,typing,carrying,pushing, bending.
Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
· Noise level is usually low to medium
· Occasional lifting of up to 30lbs.
