Job Overview:

MPE is seeking a Mechanical Drafter to model and process customized equipment orders to meet customers' unique needs. This individual will work with both MPE's sales team, project managers, and the end-user (customer) to take an order from the concept stage through manufacturing. The ideal candidate will possess the proven ability to use 2D & 3D software, have a basic understanding of processing plant design, have industrial design experience, and excellent time management skills. This individual will also have the opportunity to work on R&D projects to develop product improvements and inventive solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Create 2D & 3D models of integrated systems from the concept stage to assist with the sales process.
• Communicate internally with MPE's sales team to understand initial customer requirements.
• Work with project managers to draft and spec features such as mezzanines, structures, and integrate process equipment from design stage to manufacturing.
• Work directly with customers to understand project goals and develop efficient solutions.
• Use engineering skillset to develop unique designs in an R&D setting.

Requirements:

• Minimum two year degree in mechanical drafting or design (or similar) or four year engineering degree.
• Industrial design experience required.
• Experience with 3D modeling (Solidworks preferred)
• Experience with 2D modeling (AutoCAD preferred).
• Ability to work independently and take the initiative with limited direction.
• Ability to quickly grasp and learn technical concepts related to the company's products and applications.
• Ability to collaborate effectively daily with sales personnel and customers.
• Ability to communicate efficiently through both written and verbal mediums.
• Ability to "think outside the box" and be inventive in developing solutions that meet customer needs.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Desire and willingness to learn.
