Job Summary:
The Delivery Driver is to ensure the safe and timely delivery of company products to our customers while following all Federal, State, and company laws and safety standards. The individual is more than just a delivery driver, he is part of the Warehouse team and, as such, works closely with the Branch Manager to ensure all materials are received and delivered on time. The Delivery Driver represents our company in a professional and cost-effective manner to increase our profitability and customer satisfaction.
Duties:
· Deliver company products to different customer addresses and through different routes in a safe, courteous and timely manner
· Work scheduled hours with occasional Overtime as required
· Follow routes and time schedules
· Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate delivery vehicle
· Establish and maintain outstanding relationships with customers
· Ask for feedback on provided services and see any clients’ complaints through to resolution
· Complete logs and reports for DOT tracking purposes
· Reviews and verifies packing slips against product(s) loaded to ensure accuracy
· Inspects delivery vehicles and ensures the safety and security of the loading and unloading process
· Contacts customers to confirm delivery details
· Determines placement of merchandise, follows safety and lifting protocols during deliveries, and conducts safety reviews
· Follow DOT regulations and safety standards at all times
· Assist in Warehouse when not making a delivery
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Certificates, licenses and registrations required: Class A Commercial Driver License.
· Ability to operate forklifts and tractors in a variety of weather and traffic conditions.
· Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
· Good driving record with no traffic violations
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
· Familiarity with local streets, neighborhoods, and routes
· Highly responsible & reliable
· Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
