Under the direct supervision of the Multi-site Director of Food Services manages the day-to-day operations of the food service department to achieve high-quality food delivery & customer service in the food service department at all campuses.

• Plans, administers, and directs all unit activities related to resident / patient nutrition care and food service complying with the standards established by Berkshire Health Systems, regulatory agencies, and clients.
• Leads supervisors, diet technicians, and patient service staff. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified approach to patient / resident care.

The level of impact is within its own operation.

• Provides oversight of diet office software menu systems and successful interface of the menu system with food production and service.
• Acts on behalf of the organization, managing supervisors and staff to ensure that menu / meal service is provided for all patients as a level consistent with department standards.
• Approve time off, vacation, and weekly payroll for all food service staff

• Training or ability to train and manage dietary office systems required.
• Ability to interpret and administer standards and policies. Demonstrated leadership ability, communication of a strong work ethic, and commitment toward excellence in the food service profession.
• Excellent communication skills; communicates effectively with patients, family members, staff, and any other customer.
• Well organized and able to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously.
• Demonstrated understanding of regulatory standards.
• Demonstrated dependability. Effectiveness in confronting problems and resolving conflict.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with employees, managers, directors, and other staff.
• Demonstrated positive attitude, initiative, and flexibility to provide role model leadership daily

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

• 2 years of current nutrition / food service SUPERVISORY or Leadership experience
• FOODSERVICE EMR OR NUTRITION SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - PLEASE NOTE EXPERIENCE ON PROFILE
• A high school diploma required
• Food service management education from an accredited program preferred
• Medical terminology course completion preferred
