The Systems Administrator’s primary responsibility is to provide strategic technical solutions and application engineering support for internal operations. The Systems Administrator is expected to take a lead role in the ongoing maintenance and maturing of the technical environment and is expected to work with management to plan a technology roadmap and to work towards its implementation.

The Systems Administrator will provide guidance around the monitoring and management of the organization’s systems. This includes installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, maintaining, and troubleshooting as needed. This individual will provide technical support to NJ, Canada, Boston offices, remote sales staff, and contractors.

The System Administrator is part of a small, dynamic IT team and works with stakeholders to improve business processes, automate workflows, and enhance efficiency. The incumbent will also provide day-to-day local/remote desktop support, troubleshoot and document steps performed to resolve system issues.

Responsibilities

• Monitors availability, health, and capacity of all infrastructure systems.
• Contributes to end-user support regarding enterprise IT services.
• Contributes to planning process (hardware, software, budget, projects).
• Ensures proper planning, testing and implementation of changes to production environments.
• Responds daily to Help Desk Tickets as assigned within required SLA’s
• Manages servers in a Windows Active Directory environment
• Works to ensure that each server and services hosted on it have 100% uptime
• Manages and participates in various technical and systems related projects
• Meets with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and goals, and identify and resolve business issues
• Conducts research on hardware and software products to support recommendations for purchasing efforts
• Develop technical reference manuals / runbooks.
• Perform administrative duties in the corporate AWS Virtual private Cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
• Preferred: CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or better.
• Minimum of 3 years of IT experience as a System Administrator, Team Lead or similar
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 productivity suite, including SharePoint online
• Familiar with Computer Systems Validation (CSV) and GxP SaaS platforms, for example, Veeva CRM
• Active Directory knowledge is highly preferred.
• Familiar with identity management systems, for example, Okta Single Sign-on (SSO)
• Knowledge of ITSM solutions (e.g. NinjaRMM, Freshservice, etc.)
• Knowledge of Workspace one MDM for ios devices, a plus
• Experience with endpoint security software (Symantec, Cybereason)
• Familiar with system monitoring software (WhatsupGold)
• Troubleshoot VPN, Wireless, and LAN issues (Cisco AnyConnect).
• Familiar with remote control and software distribution tools (WDS, etc.)
• Knowledge of IaaS platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Basic knowledge of ERP systems and relational databases
• Experience with conference room presentation systems (Barco, Creston)
• Knowledge of messaging and collaboration platforms (WebEx, Teams)
• Demonstrates exemplary internal customer service and teambuilding:
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal business stakeholders with the goal of improving the user experience.
  • Analyze and solve all problems relating to: PCs, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Document procedures and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
