SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing project management of frame/fleet wide long-term program initiatives. As events arise they are captured, assessed, and documented. This requires inputs from several technical and non-technical departments culminating in a hierarchy of board reviews. The outputs require strategy application to operations and execution. The ability to communicate cross-functionally, succinctly, and dynamically is a requisite for success in the role. Ultimately, the ability to traverse the process from concept to execution, as a tool for oversight and support, is necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support Fleet Risk & Mitigation development meetings as Service Operations lead representative;
  • Support development of fleet risk mitigation and outage optimization implementation strategies;
  • Participate in product applicability and outage optimization meetings as Service Operations lead representative;
  • Support identification and applicability for fleet products / improvement works;
  • Evaluate the applicable products of medium to high impact for implementation;
  • Collect/summarize fleet risk and optimization applicability data as well as status of implementation;
  • Pursue further definition of proposed mitigations as well as optimization initiatives if required (via requests for information, estimate requests, targeted interdepartmental sessions, etc.);
  • Coordinate commercial as well as technical activities for implementation of fleet solutions and optimization initiatives;
  • Create and maintain the mitigation/optimization implementation forecast prioritized based on risk, parts lead time, existing outage schedule/opportunity and other points of consideration. Update based on implementation approvals from Service/Program Managers;
  • Request/receive approval for the mitigation application schedule and track status through project completion;
  • Conduct kick-off sessions with frame applicable Service/Program Managers to communicate risk mitigation implementation strategies and supporting details such as location of planning related materials, budgetary/duration estimations, expectations for implementation;
  • Evaluate the impact of optimization initiatives in outage execution and clearly communicate to the planning and execution teams;
  • Engage Service/Program Managers and provide outage specific guidance during planning and support planning phase meetings including but not limited to estimations and budgeting support for implementation of mitigations, products and optimizations;
  • Manage and status parts, hardware, or tooling orders related to frame or fleet risk mitigation, applicable products and optimization initiatives;
  • Verify that lessons learned have been documented and communicated back to the appropriate groups, e.g. fleet risk review board and/or outage optimization team;
  • Verify that configuration and implementation status following outage completion has been provided to the appropriate groups, e.g. configuration engineering and/or outage optimization team;
  • Provide recurring executive summaries/report-outs regarding implementation and execution of known fleet risks, risk mitigations, products and service optimization initiatives;
  • Travel to customer plant sites as needed for the purpose of planning meeting support, audit of risk mitigation and/or optimization initiative success of execution;
  • Make suggestions for product and service improvements that will increase customer satisfaction with Mitsubishi Power products and services;
  • Ensure products meets or exceed Mitsubishi Power and customer requirements;
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

  • Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree (BSME, BSEE) from four-year college or university; or at least ten (10) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and basic database.
