Mitchell College is Hiring a Remote Coordinator of Online Education

Mitchell College seeks to hire aCoordinator of Online Education. A part-time Academic Affairs staff member, this person will oversee and support the delivery of the early phase of Mitchell College's adult degree-completion program. Working 10 hours a week to start, with the potential for more hours as the program grows, the Coordinator of Online Education will assist in recruiting prospective students, evaluate transcripts and provide advising, liaison with faculty and offer faculty support and training, revise the program as needed, provide vision for program expansion. Under the direction of the Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of the College, the successful candidate will be a collaborative, highly-organized professional who is flexible, proactive, eager to learn and share learning, and results-oriented.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist the College in designing strategy and executing plans for adult online learning;
  • Work with the VPAA/DOC, VP for Enrollment, Registrar, and Division Chairs to increase student online enrollment growth, working on retention strategies and other initiatives that align with the College's strategic direction;
  • Handle all adult degree completers’ inquiries regarding classes, enrollment, financial aid/student accounts, technology, and support services, consulting campus units as needed;
  • Review college transcripts and advise students on their academic plans and progress, academic schedule, and academic activities and career goals leading to graduation;
  • Assist students with technical issues;
  • Serve as the liaison between students and online instructors;
  • Assist the VPAA/DOC in anticipating, moderating, and resolving academic issues as they develop;
  • Coordinate student evaluation of online courses;
  • Collect, organize, and track all documentation associated with the assessment of online instruction;
  • Design and facilitate training for faculty as needed; and
  • Lend other related expertise as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in and supporting distance learning programs; 
  • Master's degree in adult education, distance education, or related field; 
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, specifically Moodle;
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
