Mitchell College is seeking to hire a Campus Safety Officers to provide for the safety and well-being of Mitchell College students, faculty, staff and property through the enforcement of college policies and procedures. S/He will respond to calls for assistance including emergency and crisis situations, and provide other services to the college community. 

Multiple Positions - Casual Part-Time

Required Education and Experience:

• · Campus Safety Officer must have a high school diploma or general education degree, six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• · Experience working in an academic environment and/or with young people is a plus.
• · Campus Safety Officer must have valid driver’s license with favorable driving record required.
• · Campus Safety Officer must have Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• · Campus Safety Officer must be able to communicate with diplomacy and tact in sensitive situations.
• · Campus Safety Officer must have strong written communication skills.
• · Campus Safety Officer must maintain confidential information.
• · Campus Safety Officer must exercise sound judgment and be able to work independently.
• · Campus Safety Officer must have the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous responsibilities in stressful situations. 

•  Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

Physical Demands:

While performing this job, the Campus Safety Officer is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The Campus Safety Officer frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The Campus Safety Officer will occasionally be required to sit, climb, or balance, and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The Campus Safety Officer is required to successfully pass a physical agility test, and a bicycle-training course to be eligible for Bicycle patrol. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment.
