Job Description
  • Manage administrative, financial and personnel activities of assigned department/functional area
  • Explains policies and procedures to advise and assist others, team, and/or management
  • Oversees and guides process completion and related programs, policies and procedures
  • May perform some of the work supervised/managed, especially when it is highly complex and/or technical in nature
  • May serve as a representative for the functional unit
  • Assesses current and future needs of the function and plans accordingly
  • Applies operational business practices and coordinates with other closely related areas both inside and outside the function/department to improve efficiency
  • Provides input to short- and long-term plans for the function
  • Provides input to the development and implementation of function/department programs, policies, procedures, etc.
  • Coordinates resources and sets daily priorities to meet operational objectives and offset competing priorities
  • Establishes necessary controls and governance processes for projects of varying degrees of complexity
  • Uses judgment to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems
  • Impacts the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team and its contribution to the Finance and Business function, by recommending efficiencies that align with the organization and best practice
  • Explains information and changes, ensuring audience understanding
  • Conveys performance expectations and handles sensitive issues

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the campus parking operations department to ensure efficient and effective management of parking facilities and services
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines for parking operations in accordance with organizational goals, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of parking facilities, including parking lot maintenance, signage, enforcement, and security
  • Manage parking inventory, including permits, passes, and spaces allocation, to optimize utilization and revenue generation
  • Supervise parking staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management, to maintain a high level of customer service and operational excellence
  • Monitor and analyze parking data, such as occupancy rates, revenue, and traffic flow, to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and manage budgets for parking operations, including revenue projections, expenses, and capital investments, to ensure financial sustainability and accountability
  • Implement technology solutions for parking management, such as automated payment systems, and mobile apps, to enhance efficiency and user experience
  • Coordinate with campus stakeholders, including administration, facilities management, and transportation departments, to align parking operations with overall campus planning and development
  • Liaise with local authorities, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure compliance with parking regulations, permits, and zoning requirements
  • Respond to inquiries, complaints, and feedback from students, faculty, staff, and visitors regarding parking issues and concerns, and implement appropriate resolutions
  • Plan and execute special events, such as graduations, conferences, and athletic events, to accommodate increased parking demand and facilitate smooth traffic flow
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of parking facilities to assess safety, accessibility, and compliance with regulations and standards
  • Stay informed about industry trends, innovations, and emerging technologies in parking management to continuously improve operations and services
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and customer service excellence within the parking operations department to achieve organizational goals and objectives
Shift

This Shift is from 7:30am to 4:00pm

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications
  • Outstanding communication skills. Friendly and outgoing and able to manage parking issues respectfully and professionally
  • Ability to resolve complex and sometimes last-minute parking issues and requests from internal and external constituents
  • Moderate understanding of contracts and project management
  • Understand of campus parking geography
  • Knowledge and ability to use various Microsoft products including spreadsheets and Word
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as a salaried amount of $58,572.80 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
