JOB PURPOSE
In this crucial administrative support position, you will play a key role in aiding
the Director of Underwriting (Dir, UW) to streamline company operations in line
with our vision, mission, and values. The role requires utmost professionalism,
superior communication abilities, and meticulous handling of confidential
matters. As a pivotal member of the team, you will provide multifaceted support
to the Dir, UW, facilitating efficient workflows, adhering to deadlines, and
ensuring the director is well-informed on essential matters.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Dir, UW in the application of company policies and procedures in
accordance with MEM’s vision, mission and values.
Support the Dir, UW in a proficient and professional manner according to MEM’s
values. Ensure that a high-level of communication is maintained, deadlines are
met, and confidential information is handled appropriately. Keep the Dir, UW
apprised of pertinent information. Manage all projects as assigned.
Identify changes that may need to be made to ensure the organization is in
compliance.
Prepare and deliver monthly budget reports for review by UW leadership
including Rolling 12 and Budget Variance Report. Also responsible for periodic
and special reports for the Dir, UW detailing data from appropriate internal
systems such as Guidewire, ImageRight, iNet, etc as requested.
Assist with planning and organizing department meetings, working with outside
vendors and internal partners as needed to book facilities, speakers, caterers,
etc. Secure travel arrangements for the UW team-members as needed, to
include registration, lodging, air and ground transportation. Will prepare detailed
travel itineraries for internal and external use as needed. Prepare expense
reports for the UW team as needed.
Ensure regulatory compliance by producing comprehensive regulatory reports.
Review and consolidate the information being reported and make sure it is
accurate and timely.
Support others by carrying out simple risk monitoring and assessment tasks.
May be asked to learn aspects of the Underwriting Service Assistant (USA) role
and, on a part-time basis, be asked to contribute support as capacity allows.
Develop and maintain excellent process or technical skills by participating in
assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal
training and coaching.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree preferred
EXPERIENCE
3 plus years’ of progressively responsible office support experience is required and/or work in an insurance environment such as an agency office or property and casualty carrier.
