Overview

Life Care Animal Hospital in Saint Paul, Minnesota is hiring a Part-Time Veterinarian to join our practice!

About our clinic: Life Care Animal Hospital is full-service small animal practice offering the best in medical, surgical, and customer care. We have been serving Ramsey County for over 60 years and have built a great reputation within the community and well-established clientele. Our diagnostic equipment includes an in-house IDEXX laboratory, digital radiography, and digital dental radiography. We utilize the services of mobile radiologist to perform our diagnostic ultrasounds and a mobile cardiologist for our echocardiograms. We recently renovated our practice, including all new flooring, paint, LED lighting, HVAC, grooming room, breakroom, and coffee and water bar in the lobby.

Most importantly, we have a well-trained and well-utilized support staff. They are empowered to do everything they are trained to do, including taking radiographs, placing IV catheters, intubating, monitoring, and medicating patients. Every doctor is well-supported by 2.5 technicians and assistants each day.

At Life Care, we perform a variety of routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries and dentistry. We also utilize board-certified surgeon, Dr. Lara Rasmussen, for advanced soft tissue procedures and board-certified surgeons, Dr. Scott Murphy and Dr. Melissa Hoffer, for our orthopedic procedures. Our surgery suite contains all the necessary equipment to perform surgeries within or exceeding the standards of care, including surgical laser, new surgical lift table, warming support, monitoring equipment, and there are always two support staff in surgery. Our dentistry equipment includes a high speed Midmark dental machine and digital dental radiography. We also have cold laser, which can be used post-op. Pre-operative lab work, IV catheter, and IV fluids are required.

At Life Care, we have worked hard to create a helpful, respectful, and friendly team. We have a positive culture where everyone enjoys working together, as well as spending time together outside of work. Our team recently got out some frustrations by throwing axes and we had a great time painting while sipping some wine. Our team is led by Dr. McKenna Guettinger, who appreciates and respects work/life balance. To round out the group, our practice manager, Jeff, keeps our practice running smoothly and is constantly looking for ways we can improve.

Our practice is open Monday – Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, and Saturday, 8 am to 12 pm. On weekdays our doctors see appointments from 8 am to 12 pm, have a 2-hour break from 12 – 2 pm, and then see appointments from 2 pm until close. The schedule we are looking to fill would be 4 days per week and every 4th Saturday, with no on-call responsibilities. You can learn more about our amazing practice at lifecareanimalhospital.com.
