Miriam Foundation is Hiring a LPC/Counselor Diagnostician-School-Based Near St. Louis, MO

Job Title: LPC/Counselor Diagnostician-School-Based

Job Description: The LPC assesses mental health and educational issues of school-age students in the school setting. Using standardized tests, observations, and interviews, he/she determines if a child meets DSM-5-TR criteria for a disorder. The LPC finalizes the assessment in a written report and presents findings to the family and/or school. He/she will also review psycho-educational tests and when appropriate, render diagnoses. The LPC works in conjunction with a LCSW when rendering a diagnosis.

Flexible schedule

As needed, not to exceed 29 hours per week

Pay: Per completed report or $47 per hour

Qualifications: Master's degree in counseling

LPC fully licensed in Missouri

2 years of experience evaluating children and adolescents for mental health issues

Good understanding of DSM-5-TR diagnoses

Proficient with technology

Transportation to various schools within the St. Louis area

Job Duties:

  1. Conduct psychosocial evaluations in charter and private K-12 schools to diagnose ADHD, anxiety, depression and other DSM-5-TR disorders.
  2. Diagnose disorders using the DSM-5-TR manual.
  3. Write professional reports and make appropriate recommendations.
  4. Complete reports within DESE specified periods.
  5. Facilitate report review meetings with parents and/or school personnel.
  6. Review psycho-educational reports and render DSM-5-TR diagnoses, including Specific Learning Disorders.
  7. Collaborate with school psychologists, speech/language pathologists, and occupational therapists also conducting evaluations with the same child.
  8. Make mental health recommendations to school psychologists to add to psycho-educational reports.
  9. Other duties as set by supervisor.
