Under the supervision of an Office Manager, provides responsible clerical support for the processing of inmates into and out of the jail and for a variety of inmate transactions. Retrieves criminal history, warrant, and other information from, and enters warrant, court order, and other information into the LEIN system. Maintains inmate database information required to ensure the safety and security of inmates, officers, visitors, and staff. Physically processes female inmates into the jail in the absence of female corrections officers.
This is a full-time, benefitted position working in West Olive at both headquarters and the Jail. This position has the capacity to work 8 or 10-hour shifts, and may potentially include some weekends. The schedule is subject to change within collective bargaining agreement provisions based on organizational needs.The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
High school diploma or GED required. Previous secretarial experience and/or data entry skills preferred. Ability to use transcription equipment required. May be required to become LEIN certified.

Work is performed in a normal office environment. May be subject to female inmate searches, with possible exposure to a variety of disease agents and to bloodborne pathogens.
