Mindful Care is Hiring a Clinical Intake Specialist - LMSW Contract Near Hempstead, NY

The Opportunity

Our Clinical Intake Specialists are Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSWs), with deep clinical knowledge and background, who provide initial mental health interviews and evaluation for patients seeking treatment at Mindful Care.
Knowledge in understanding the implications of the Biological, Psychological, and social factors of our patients’ lives and experiences is expected to make recommendations for the services we provide, as they embark on their mental health and/or recovery journey with us.
Our LMSWs will fully assess and collaborate with patients and other members of the clinical team to ensure that patients are educated and have a strong treatment plan to follow at Mindful Care.

Responsibilities:

Perform Initial Evaluations (90791s) for all patients seeking care at Mindful Care
Provide on-going orientation about Mindful Urgent Care programs and services
Become SMEs on the variety of services at Mindful and help formulate Treatment Plans based on individual needs of the patients.
Utilize supervision as needed.
Participate in department training and collaborate with other treatment providers.
Following strict ethical and clinical guidelines

Qualifications:

A master’s degree and valid LMSW to practice in New York
Must have malpractice insurance or be willing to obtain
Strong patient assessment skills, including mental status exam and use of screening tools (PHQ9, GAD 7)
Knowledge of DSM-V
Ability to work independently
Effective communication, patient/customer care, and leadership abilities
Ability to organize and time-manage
Team-player
Desire to work with diverse populations and ages 12-lifespan
LGBTQ ally, a plus
Bilingual, a plus

Position & Schedule

Type: Contracted 1099, Per Diem
Location: Remote

Compensation:

$40 per hour
