Engineering Technician I - Salary Range for this position is $17.94-$26.92 depending on experience.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Position Duties

• Assist with various types of surveys using conventional and GPS survey equipment.
• Assist with inspection of construction projects for compliance with MnDOT and McLeod County Specifications.
• Maintain detailed records of pertinent construction project activities.

• Provide field measurements of elevations and/or alignments for the Contractor and verify accuracy of project installations.
• Perform laboratory testing on samples of materials to ensure compliance with Specifications.
• May prepare plans, proposals, and technical drawings of construction projects.

• Work with computer related items and software such as the Internet, RtVision OneOffice, Microsoft Office, Bentley OpenRoads, and other software as needed or instructed.

• Prepare and/or assist with construction related reports on projects.

Non-Essential Functions

• Perform job related duties as assigned or apparent

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years of progressive qualified work experience in similar field;
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.

AND

• Must be able to obtain within 12 months of employment; MnDOT Technical Certifications in Aggregate Production, Grading and Base I, and Concrete Field I.

Engineering Technician II - Salary Range for this position is $22.86-$34.29 depending on experience.

• Must currently hold, or be able to obtain within 12 months of employment; MnDOT Technical Certifications in Aggregate Production, Grading and Base I, Bituminous Plant I, and Concrete Field I.

AND

• Must currently hold, or be able to obtain within 24 months of employment; MnDOT Technical Certifications in Bituminous Street, Concrete Field II, Bridge Construction, and Erosion Control Installer, and/or other certifications as deemed necessary.

Engineering Technician III - Salary Range for this position is $25.15-$37.73 depending on experience.

Engineering Technician IV - Salary Range for this position is $27.53-$41.29 depending on experience.
