Milosi is looking for a Landscape Design Assistant!
As a Landscape Design Assistant, you will work closely with landscape designers and architects to assist in creating and implementing various landscape design projects. Your role will involve supporting the design process from conception to completion, utilizing technical and creative skills to contribute to developing beauti aesthetically pleasing and functional outdoor spaces.
Responsibilities:
Assist in Design Development: Collaborate with landscape designers to develop design concepts and create preliminary sketches or renderings.
Research and Analysis: To support design decisions, research plants, materials, and design trends. Analyze site conditions, including soil type, climate, and topography, to inform design solutions.
Drafting and Documentation: Utilize design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Lumion) to produce detailed drawings, plans, and construction documents. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation.
Material Selection: Assist in selecting appropriate plants, hardscape materials, and outdoor furnishings based on design requirements, site conditions, and client preferences.
Site Visits and Measurements: Accompany the designer's on-site visits to assess existing conditions, take measurements, and gather relevant data for design development.
Client Communication: Communicate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and feedback; present design ideas and proposals to clients in a clear and professional manner.
Project Coordination: Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of design plans. Monitor project progress and address any issues or concerns that may arise during construction.
Assist in Project Management: Support project managers in organizing schedules, budgets, and resources for multiple projects simultaneously. Ensure timely completion of tasks and deliverables.
Continuing Education: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to landscape design. Participate in workshops, seminars, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, Horticulture, or related field.
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, or similar programs.
Strong visual communication skills, including hand sketching and rendering abilities.
Knowledge of plant materials, site analysis techniques, and sustainable design principles.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
Previous experience or internships in landscape design or architecture is preferred.
Open to getting in-field experience to enrich your knowledge base.
