The Waste Handler for a refinery turnaround is responsible for safely managing waste materials. This includes collection, segregation, transportation, and disposal while adhering to environmental regulations. A Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required for this role.
- Waste Management: Collect, segregate, label, and transport waste materials on-site.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal waste disposal regulations.
- Safety: Prioritize safety, report incidents, and use proper PPE.
- Waste Disposal: Coordinate with approved vendors for proper disposal.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate waste handling records.
- Environmental Stewardship: Support sustainability initiatives and waste reduction efforts.
- Communication: Collaborate with teams and report waste-related concerns.
- Valid TWIC Card (must have actual card)
- Ability to pass DISA Background and drug testing to gain entry into CITGO Refinery
- Availability to work a variety of shifts when needed including nights, weekends and overtime as business needs dictate
- Ability to work in a refinery with loud, hazardous conditions, potentially hazardous chemicals and industrial settings.
- Working in various temperatures and outdoors in all
- Previous waste handling experience, preferably in an industrial setting.
- Strong safety focus.
- Valid driver's license, clean MVR
- Available to travel to different sites as needed
- Physical fitness for lifting and carrying.
