Millennium steel is Hiring a Die Maintenance Technician Near Princeton, IN

SUMMARY: Performs, monitors, and controls die maintenance, die repair activities, and performs fabrication assignments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Plans die maintenance and repair functions.

· Purchases and controls die supplies / equipment spare parts.

· Completes various die maintenance repair reports.

· Assist management with preventative actions to reduce and/or eliminate waste and quality problems due to die breakdown / malfunction.

· Ensures all employees conduct die repair activities in a safe and efficient manner. Ensures all die maintenance areas meet safety requirements. Attends safety committee meetings.

· Assists management with establishing die preventative maintenance schedules, work instructions, process procedures and standards for die maintenance and repair functions.

· Investigate, complete and follow up on Root Cause Analysis for production loss or quality problems related to die breakdown/malfunction.

· Participates in the continuous improvement program (Kaizen).

· Inputs information for yearly budget and management plan preparation.

· Provides training for team members.

· Assigns/performs die maintenance and repair tasks to team members.

· Provides/performs die maintenance and repair supervision.

· Tig & Mig welding experience is required.

· Use of hand, air and electric grinders, and hand stone will be performed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises/performs with all employees involved in maintenance and repair activities. Assists management with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the maintenance program.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent; one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, quality manuals, operational procedures, work instructions, blueprints and technical manuals. Ability to write work instructions, root cause analysis, routine reports and business correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate percentages, area, circumference and volume and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to read die blueprints and schematics.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Crane License, Forklift License. (May be obtained in first three months of employment)

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use various personal computer software (Microsoft Windows, Excel). Knowledge of metric system. Mechanically inclined, working knowledge of hand grinders, hand stone, Tig and Mig welding.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Proper safety equipment is required for work on the warehouse floor.

SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to handle stressful situations and work well with warehouse and with other team members. Multi-tasking.
