Job Summary:

The Estimator role at Milestone will be responsible for generating cost estimates and new business opportunities in their assigned markets. This role is essential for ensuring the contracted work is accurately estimated and secured for the company. They will bid on advertised projects throughout the state of lndiana.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Generates and develops cost estimates:
    • Analyzes plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare bids/quotes.
    • Ensures all estimates meet or exceed company and customer's expectations, as well as regulatory
    • Computes various cost
    • Checks quantities for accuracy
  • Develops beneficial business relationships
    • Develops good working relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and INDOT
    • Develops a network of contacts within the
    • Develops good relationships
  • Performs day-to-day estimating tasks:
    • Sets up jobs in job
    • Attends pre-bid and pre-construction
    • Generates purchase orders and subcontractor
    • Prepares change orders, submittals, and assists with other tasks as necessary to support the project
    • Tracks and reviews cost history and incorporates into operational buy in review
  • Communicates with internal/external customers:
    • Answers inquiries via phone, email, or in-
  • Provides highest levels of customer
  • Makes presentations to large and small
  • Translates technical information into easily understood
  • Promotes and maintains safe work environment:
    • Exhibits safe work
    • Wears all prescribed PPE, as

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Technology, Construction Management, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-2 years previous experience in cost estimating; experience in civil estimating is preferred, but not required.

Key Details:

  • This position is 100% on-site, primarily working out of our Fort Wayne location.
  • Regular travel to job sites, customer sites, and corporate offices throughout the state is required on an as needed basis.
