Cooks Summary :

Our cooks maintain outstanding customer service in processing orders quickly, accurately, and efficiently, clean food preparation equipment and work area, organize, load and unload inventory, and put merchandise away.

Prepare food for customers, prep and maintain proper levels of food for shifts. Some tasks may include ensuring that ingredients are stored properly and maintaining an inventory of food and other items needed for the grill station.

In addition to preparing grilled foods, may also fry, bake, or microwave meat and poultry as part of their duties. May also cut or carve meat, assemble measure, and mix other ingredients for dishes.

Responsible for cleanliness of all equipment and wares used.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates a positive work environment while striving to fulfill and execute our Mission Statement
  • Follows and maintains food safety, HACCP process
  • Daily communication with upper management
  • Monitoring quality and cleanliness of food and store environment
  • Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Wash large restaurant pots and pans
  • Emptying trash bins in dumpster

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.
  • Ability to speak and read English (second language is a plus).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with external customers required.
  • Great problem solving and priority setting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor

The legend began in 1973 when Mike and Mary Vasquez took over an existing restaurant in Corona, CA and renamed it Miguels in honor of Mikes grandfather. They struggled to make a go of it. Mike kept his day job and worked the restaurant at night while Mary developed dishes and recipes. Over the next 2 years, business improved to the point that they decided to lease a fast food restaurant just 2 miles down the road and named it Miguels Jr. This became an instant favorite with locals and travelers along interstate 91 between Orange County and the Inland Empire.
