MIG Service Inc. is seeking a Tax Director! to join our team. Due to succession planning and a Partner retiring, our CPA firm is recruiting for a Tax Leader who is qualified and interested in pursuing a Fast Track to Tax Partner! This impressive team is in Ontario, CA, and offers full benefits and a competitive compensation package. A hybrid work schedule is also available (3 days remote/2 days onsite). The retiring Partner will be passing along a portion of his book of business to whom they hire for this role. Our firm has excellent camaraderie!
About the Opportunity
The Tax Director will oversee and manage the firm's tax provision and compliance activities. This role involves leading daily tax operations, managing tax personnel, establishing tax policies, implementing processes and procedures, and ensuring timely preparation and filing of tax documentation and returns. Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 10 years of experience in Public Accounting and CPA required
2. Ability to plan client engagements, provide tax consulting services, supervise, and review work of team staff members, as well as work closely with internal managers and partners.
3. Responsible for tax return issuance and ensure adherence with professional guidelines and firm policies.
4. Manage all tax engagements to ensure meeting of all compliance and other deadlines.
5. Prepare and/or review individual, corporate and partnership tax returns of varying complexities.
6. Experience with tax preparation and research software required.
7. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of tax accounting.
8. Interested in moving into a TAX PARNTER position in the future.
Responsibilities:
1. Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns including Individual, Partnership, C-Corp, S-Corp, and Trust returns.
2. Conducting tax research and planning to optimize tax strategies for our clients.
3. Providing tax advisory services, educating our clients on tax-related matters, and helping them make informed decisions.
4. Collaborating with the tax team to improve our processes and services, ensuring we continually deliver personalized service to our clients.
5. Utilizing tax accounting software (Lacerte) to ensure accurate and efficient tax preparation.
6. Keeping up-to-date with the latest tax laws and regulations to ensure our clients' compliance and to identify new tax planning opportunities.
