Mies & Sons is a milk hauling company responsible for the transportation of raw milk from Kansas dairy farms to various milk receiving plants throughout the Midwest. We originated in Colwich, KS over 25 years ago, but have recently expanded our operation to include a new facility in Garden City, KS.

Mies & Sons is actively seeking a Night Dispatcher for the 2nd shift. The hours would require 5pm to 5am, 4 days on, 4 days off.

The Dispatcher will be responsible for updating and managing the milk transport schedule by staying in consistent communication with the drivers throughout their shifts.

The dispatcher will work with the drivers to verify the milking schedules at the dairy farms, procure the proper destination for each load, ensure on-time arrival, and organize the paperwork with efficient accuracy. The ideal candidate is highly energetic, self-motivated and driven to excel. A successful dispatcher embraces working in a company with many responsibilities and opportunities to learn. In addition, this person’s work schedule will include weekends, holidays, and night-time hours.

About the Responsibilities:

• Dispatch milk haulers and shuttle drivers to designated dairy farms or milk receiving plants.
• Communicate directly with management to verify dairy farm milk schedules to ensure drivers and equipment are available to serve the dairy farms and receiving plants with consistent reliability.
• Adhere to company principles and company guidelines set forth by management.
• Provide superior customer service by being courteous, knowledgeable, and professional.
• Communicate with drivers and internal staff at regular intervals to ensure expectations are set.
• Escalate problems to the appropriate level as required to quickly achieve resolution.
• This position will require working weekends and holidays as the 4 days on, 4 days off rotation requires. The night dispatcher will require working nights.

Ideal Candidates will have * Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office. (Excel, Word & Access)
