Work Location: Remote within Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Colorado, or Rhode Island

  • Travel is required for onboarding and at least once a month.

Hours: M-F 8:30a-5p EST

Position Summary:

The Agility Lead will serve as the lead/primary point of contact for the product, scrum, project management, and leadership teams for day-to-day operations for the execution of the sprints and integration with other project/product teams. They will facilitate and promote continuous improvement at all levels of the organization based on iterative retrospectives. The Agility Lead is open, approachable, collaborative, and enjoys working with passionate people to achieve organizational priorities. Agility Lead must be proactive in solving problems to help their scrum team(s) succeed. The Agility Lead is responsible for removing impediments that hinder the team from reaching their goals and has a flexible approach that enables the team to rapidly respond to changes. The Agility Lead drives Agile and Scrum framework that results in quality product delivery SM embrace agility as a practice.

This role will be working with multiple business and technology teams to deliver customer value through the implementation of Agile principles, processes, and methods. Success in this role will involve efficient and timely communication to technical and non-technical team members, proactive coordination, love of new technologies, a strong desire to learn, curious nature, and a passion for removing inefficiencies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Guides and coaches, the Scrum Teams on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services to internal and external customers.
  • Coach product owners in creation and maintenance of the product backlog including empirical planning.
  • Agility Lead must be able to manage 2 to 5 scrum teams at any given time. Facilitates and supports all scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Story Refinement, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
  • Helping the scrum team understand the need for clear and concise product backlog items.
  • Work with the product owner to align teams with the product vision, sprint goals, and other necessary information.
  • Understanding product planning in an empirical environment.
  • Ensuring the product owner knows how to arrange the product backlog to maximize value.
  • Manage a program from end to end perspective and be a single point of contact for Scrum Teams, Business and Product Managers
  • Causing change that increases productivity.
  • Communicate organizational impediments to leadership, and clear impediments for the team.
  • Follow all MWT policies and procedures.
  • Perform all other functions as required, including any work assignments relating to the efficient flow of work within Midwest Tape.

Skills:
  • Ability to elicit cooperation and effectively collaborate with cross-functional, cross organizational teams to create project/sprint plans, deliverables and resolve blocking issues.
  • Expertise with Agile and Scrum frameworks and their application in product development and delivery organization
  • Demonstrate a passion for understanding ambiguous, complex problems and high quality, innovative and robust technical solutions.
  • Sound understanding of Scaling framework such as LeSS and various other Agile frameworks such as Kanban, XP, and SAFe.
  • Ability to leverage skills from coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution and more to serve the team(s)
  • Strong knowledge of web, eCommerce, and mobile technologies.
  • Knowledge of JIRA/Confluence and other similar tools
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess great organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.


Preferred Education Requirements
:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.


Preferred Experience:

  • 5 years of Agile or project management experience in a software engineering organization
  • 2 years of experience as an Agile Coach is preferred.
