Operations Support Specialist

Job Summary: The Operations Support Specialist is responsible for performing various operational activities performed by MIB operations team in the following areas: cash management, deposit account services, safekeeping services, account analysis, conversion activities, and support of our on-line customer platform. The Operations Support Specialist will be trained in all areas and will provide backup and support to the team based upon need. This position reports to the Operations Officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The individual will perform the duties and responsibilities in the following operational areas:

  • Cash Management – service and maintenance of customer investment and borrowing positions along with end of day investment sweep activities.
  • Deposit Services – process new account openings, account closings, account updates, and related activities involving customer deposit accounts services.
  • Safekeeping Services – process safekeeping investments for customer banks which include the processing of interest and principal payments, payment adjustments, settlement of bonds purchased or sold, preparing safekeeping receipts, and completing pledge and release requests.
  • Account Analysis – process and generate customer account analysis using the bank’s account analysis software with billing data to generate monthly statements.
  • Conversion Activities – assist the conversion manager with the tasks and efforts involved in managing changes to customer deposit accounts and operational services.
  • Online Platform – provide service and support for the on-line platform used by our customer banks to retrieve information and perform transactions through MIB.

Additional Duties:

  • Responsible for Bank Secrecy Act compliance where applicable in reference to this position.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities but may assist with the training of newly employed employees in the department.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. May require lifting up to 25 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, scanners, calculators, the telephone, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time position.
  • Days are Monday through Friday, hours will vary depending on need, currently ranging from 7:30 am – 4:30 pm, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
  • Flexible work schedules may be allowed when it is feasible if it allows the employee to perform the essential functions of the job and will in no way interfere with providing efficient and effective services.

  • There are no travel requirements for this position.

Qualifications


  • College Degree required, or 4 years of related work experience may be substituted in lieu of a College Degree.
