Midwest Goods Inc. is Hiring an Overnight Warehouse Lead Near Bensenville, IL

 

Location: Bensenville, IL (On-Site)

Regular Schedule: Sunday -Thursday 5:30pm- 3:00am

Status: Full-time (Exempt)

Compensation: Set at $51K Annually

$300 Sign-On Bonus After The Completion of the 90-Day Probationary Period

Summary/Objective:

Responsible for monitoring all activities within the warehouse regarding overall production, in compliance with Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Provides leadership and guidance to all employees during the overnight shift. The Overnight Warehouse Lead will work closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager and Overnight Warehouse Supervisor to maintain standards and SOP compliance.

● Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the Warehouse Personnel, including developing departmental goals, objectives, and systems in the Shipping, Receiving, Down Stocking and Inventory Departments.

● Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department initiatives in relation to the established goals and provides evaluation of performance of personnel in relation to the established targets.

● Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance within the warehouse for all shifts.

● Ensure all Safety Policies are being adhered to in the warehouse. Ensure all policies are adhered to and are responsible for staying updated with new laws and regulations.

● Maintain operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.

● Coordinate the training of new and current employees for various job roles. Cross-train and mold employees for future internal opportunities.

● Ensure Trainers are trained and updated with new policies and procedures. Responsible for reducing shipping errors by staying updated with current and suggesting new methods to improve the quality of production.

● Handle employee concerns, issues, and disciplinary action including filling out incident reports or other relevant documentation and submitting it to Human Resources.

● Maintain departmental supplies by checking stock to determine inventory levels on hand, anticipating requirements, and placing orders on a weekly basis.

● Assure department assets are accounted for daily, work with facilities and IT department to ensure the repair of any damaged assets within the department.

● Maintains communication between all departments and their leading personnel to ensure customer satisfaction and streamlined operations.

● Ensure daily measured production metrics are achieved and that all processes and activities are running smoothly and promptly.

● Manage overhead to maximize productivity and minimize waste. (Utilizing the right number of employees that it should take to achieve company metrics and goals).

● Ensure that Admins and Associates are held to the standards of the department and company SOP’s.

● Ensure all employees meet production metric expectations and requirements.

● Ensure all administrative responsibilities are completed in a timely manner while documents, files and reports are maintained.

● Support employees by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results by assisting the Warehouse Supervisor in the completion of 90 day and annual reviews.

● Generate various reports and records for accuracy and compliance with the established procedures. Assist in overall production reporting necessary for timely KPI reporting.

● Works closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager and Overnight Warehouse Supervisor on improvement and implementation of SOPs aligned with the Company’s Agenda for continuous growth.

● Must be willing to learn all aspects of the department and delegate responsibilities accordingly.

● Performs Other duties assigned by the Warehouse Operations Manager or Overnight Warehouse Supervisor.

● Work with different third-party IT vendors to make sure the systems are always operating smoothly in all shifts.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position supervises all overnight Associates, Coordinators, Trainers.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a warehouse environment where the noise level can be loud. The employee is frequently exposed to fast-moving carts and bins throughout the warehouse.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is moderately active and requires standing and walking. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift warehouse products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, 42.5 hours per week. Days and hours to be specified.

Required Education and Experience:

A GED or High School diploma is required. Three to five years of experience in a warehouse, inventory control, or materials management in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution center environment. A minimum of two years of lead or supervisory experience is required.

Work Authorization:

Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
