Position Summary This position coordinates the administrative front desk of the Orthopaedic Center in Chesterfield, provides administrative services for multiple physicians, and performs specialized duties with minimal supervision.
Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities - Provides administrative assistance to multiple physicians within the department.
- Maintains faculty calendars, scheduling meetings, confirming conference registration and making travel arrangement as necessary.
- Maintains physician curriculum vitae and licensure.
- Assists with physician re-credentialing of hospital privileges.
- Prepares correspondence as needed. Assists physician in completing forms, scans and faxes documents, prepares copies as needed, maintains files (electronic and hard).
- Answers phones, responds to inquiries from physicians, nursing staff, office staff, and other callers as needed.
- Assists with visitors and customers questions and needs.
- Assists with general office duties within the Department of Orthopedic Surgery including sorting mail, distributing packages, and ordering supplies.
- Monitors the general maintenance of the building, notifies maintenance of problems, places work orders, and follows-up with housekeeping on the completion of tasks.
- Provides back up coverage as needed.
- Assists with visitors and customers questions and needs.
Working Conditions - May be required to move/lift <15 pounds (e.g. binders, chairs, a/v equipment) as needed.
Preferred Qualifications - Three years of relevant experience.
- Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to deal effectively with a broad and diverse range of people.
- In-depth knowledge of office procedures.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
- Working knowledge of insurance and financial options.
Required Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.
- Two years of administrative office experience.
Grade G07-H
Salary Range $18.91 - $29.32 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
