Reports to: Service Manager-Midwest Application

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Summary:

Our Field Service Technicians will solve problems and provide outstanding customer service. They will perform inspections, repairs and maintenance on Apache Sprayers and other related application equipment both in our shop and remotely at customers’ sites. (Traveling approximately 50% of the time.)

Independently perform advanced diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned sprayers.

Responsibilities:

• Performs advanced diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and established precision ag products
• Participate in Service Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
• Conducts or supports customer clinics
• Maintains knowledge of Apache Sprayers and precision ag products
• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
• Accounts for all time and all material used in performing assigned duties
• Will perform diagnosis and repair in the field the majority of the time as this is a mobile tech position

Job Requirements:

• Experience performing service repairs on agricultural equipment and established precision ag products
• Ability to perform advanced repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manual procedures on machines of the Technician’s specialty
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural equipment and precision ag products
• Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
• Ability to work on their own and have excellent organization skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to use basic computer functions
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
• Valid driver’s license required with a good driving record
• Must have reliable attendance
• Ability to work varying shifts, occasional weekends, and holidays
• Ability to pass a preemployment drug screen

Expected Hours of Work

- The hours of work for our technicians will vary greatly throughout the year and will reflect the needs of our customers and work backlog. In the off-season one can expect a standard 40-50-hour work week, M-F. In-season this can expand to 60 hours per week to include many Saturdays.

Travel

- There will be some amount of travel throughout the state. Overnight travel may occur occasionally in season but is not expected to impact more than 1-2 nights at a time. Company and outside training opportunities will require some travel. It is not expected that this travel will impact more than 1-2 weeks per year once the initial training period is concluded.

Work Environment

- The work environment will be varied and dependent upon the day to day needs of the business. Most of the time will be spent in the shop, however, the environment will include working in a variety of weather conditions exposed to cold, heat, rain, sun and more (if at a customers’ site). The work will be physically demanding requiring the lifting of parts exceeding 50 lbs., standing, bending, and reaching most every day.
